Notes
  • Not to be confused with 2981290 Private T. Verner, A&SH, who was reported missing 27 May 1940 and then prisoner of war in France (WO417/3). This was before the Commandos were raised.
  • The MiD entry in Gazettes shows the service number as 2982693 which belonged to Fusilier T. Verner (3 Cdo) however it shows the Rank and Regiment as that for Private T. Verner (A&SH) as does the recommendation who according to Casualty and PoW records was a PoW at the time.
