Sergeant Frank Bend from Wyberton, Lincolnshire, served in No.4 Commando from its early days taking part in many of their actions including the Lofoten Islands, Hardelot, Dieppe and Flushing. His wife was from Ayr. Post war member of the Commando Association residing Boston, Lincolnshire.
