Lance Corporal Henry Fowler, 2 Troop, died of wounds on 24 January 1943 [1][2]. He was one of the commando contingent for Operation Chariot at St. Nazaire embarked on board motor launch ML443 and was seriously wounded by enemy fire during the unsuccessful attempt by the naval crew to land the Commandos on board. He was evacuated back to the UK [3]
