Private Hurst, 5 Troop, was one of the Commando contingent embarked on Motor Launch ML307 for the St Nazaire raid on 28 March 1942. He was evacuated back to the UK and rejoined No.2 Commando [1][2].
  • 9 September 1943 (Private) (No.2 Commando) wounded during operations at Salerno, Italy [3].
