Marine Thomas Leonard died at the Civil Hospital, Corfu, Greece.  3 weeks before his death his Commando were engaged in a successful operation to liberate the island.

MCKENNA, George

Mentioned in Despatches
Killed in action or died of wounds
Corporal George McKenna died in Corfu.  At the time of his death his Commando were engaged in policing operations there after recently liberating the island. He received a Mention in Despatches for "devotion to duty during operations in the Mediterranean theatre covering a period from 1st April to 10th September, 1944."
