Lieutenant Basil Parnwell was attached to No.12 Commando on 7 February 1942 [1] later becoming their Adjutant until it was disbanded in 1943 after which he is reported to have moved to the Commando Mountain Warfare Training Centre (CMWTC) [2].

  • 7 May 1945 (Captain) (Royal Fusiliers, T.A.) relinquished commission on grounds of disability, granted honorary rank of Major [4].
  • 20 July 1947 died at St Mary's Hospital London, death recorded on the Commonweath War Graves Commission database [5][6].
