Major Brian Butler MC died at Chateau d'Amfreville during severe mortaring of their HQ. Son of Joseph and Ellen S. Butler; husband of Hannah W. Butler, of Wimbledon, Surrey. M.A. 
Five others also died. Lt T.N. Skelly and three others were wounded.
  • Previously awarded the Military Cross for gallant and distinguished service on 4 October 1943 at Termoli, Italy.
