Citation
"This English speaking Polish NCO was attached to 'A' Company, 2/6th Queen's Royal Regiment for the crossing of the R. Garigliano on the night of 17th Jan., 44. Immediately after crossing the river, the Coy. ran into mines, and one of the two leading Pl. Cmdrs. and a dozen men were wounded, when three mines went up.
This NCO immediately got in front and encouraged the remainder forward, showing a fine disregard for his personal safety. On reaching the enemy wire, he halted the men, cut it himself, and then led them through. He then stayed with the officer-less Pl. and led it forward to the road, and up to its objective.
L/Cpl Rozen showed exceptional powers of leadership for his rank and a complete disregard for his personal safety, and was instrumental in getting the leading PL's on to their objective."
