CAMPBELL, Gordon Alexander

Lance Corporal Gordon Campbell died during training  at the Pontrilas Army Training Area near Hereford involving fast roping from a helicopter. During his nine years in the Corps he had served in Kosovo, Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan. His funeral with full military honours, took place at Oldmeldrum Parish Church, Aberdeenshire.

Corporal Martin Dean died in service, cause unknown to this archive. The headstone at his grave shows Special Boat Service.

HODGKINSON, Craig

Marine Craig Hodgkinson, 4 Assault Sqn. RM, died of a heart attack whilst playing in a rugby match between the Royal Navy and Cornwall County. 

A keen rugby player, Craig played throughout his school career, including games for the Scotland Under 18s XV.  He also played for Glasgow Hawks and was a member of the team that toured South Africa in 2003 and were unbeaten in their three matches.

SNOXELL, Oliver

Marine Oliver Snoxell, 1 Assault Group RM,  died when hit by a car  while walking along the A5 Watling Street, just North of Hockliffe. He was in Bedfordshire on home leave at the time. [Sources: AFM ROH / Leighton Buzzard observer online report 14 March 2006]
