Captain Antony Terry
Captain Antony Terry served at the War Office in Military Intelligence Section 19 (MI19) and was attached for Intelligence Duties to Lieutenant Colonel A.C. Newman's Headquarters during Operation Chariot, the raid at St. Nazaire [1] .
  • 4 July 1940 commissioned Second Lieutenant [2].
  • March 1942 embarked for Operation Chariot on MGB 314 [3].
  • Reported missing after the raid [4], found to have been taken prisoner and transported to Oflag 9/AH at Spangenberg bei Kassel, Germany [5][6].
  • December 1945 awarded the Military Cross in recognition of gallant and distinguished service during the raid at St. Nazaire [1][7].
  • Post war became a renowned Journalist with the Sunday Times [8].
